Here at Guildford Golf Club there is a warm welcome all year round.
Based on the chalk Merrow downs, our Downland course is a challenge and enjoyable in all seasons. We have invested heavily in the course in recent years, and continue to do so meaning we give our members the best course possible.
The oldest club in Surrey, we are sited on Merrow Downs – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The views are exceptional, from Guildford Cathedral to the Wembley Arch and Canary Wharf, with panoramic vistas of the Surrey Hills. If you have not yet experienced our attractive but challenging course where no two holes are the same, then what are you waiting for?
Established in 1886 and subsequently redesigned by J H Taylor, the course is situated on typical Surrey chalk downs, bordered by attractive woodlands. The rolling slopes provide an excellent example of the open commons on which the majority of inland courses were laid out when golf first became popular in England. We are immensely proud of our heritage, but are still able to be forward thinking and progressive.
Guildford is a friendly and welcoming club. Measuring 6,160 yards, the course is suitable for golfers of all abilities. All visitors can enjoy full use of the club’s facilities, including fabulous clubhouse bars, our range and short game practice areas.
Guildford Golf Club retains the best features of a traditional members’ club but has a radical new approach to golf membership - ‘Flexible Lifestyle Membership’ with options to suit the needs of today’s golfer – making golf affordable for all - from the occasional golfer who can only play 20 rounds a year, to the competitive golfer wanting unlimited access.
